TBNC CELEBRATES ITS 14TH ANNUAL MARCO POLO STREET FESTIVAL AND SILK ROAD AMBASSADOR AWARDS DINNER

After a two-year hiatus, the Marco Polo Street Festival made its return to Grand Street, between Mulberry and Mott, attracting over 2,000 attendees to the streets of the Historic District of Chinatown & Little Italy!

This past October, in partnership with the Mayor’s Office of Climate and Environmental Justice (MOCEJ), Two Bridges Neighborhood Council conducted environmental justice resident surveys in the Two Bridges neighborhood. 

TBNC RECEIVES GRANT AWARD FROM NYC SMALL BUSINESS SERVICES FOR BID EXPLORATION IN LITTLE ITALY

Two Bridges Neighborhood Council has been awarded a Business Improvement District (BID) Exploration grant from the NYC Department of Small Business Services (SBS) to assist in the development of the Mulberry Street Partnership, a BID for Little Italy. Details in the post.

TWO BRIDGES ELITES ATTEND NATIONAL BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT

Over Memorial Day weekend, 40 youth from the Two Bridges Elites basketball team participated in the National NACBA Basketball Tournament in Rock Hill, South Carolina.

On Thursday, May 19, Two Bridges Neighborhood Council hosted its annual Spring Benefit Celebrating Progressive Women in the Lower East Side, Then and Now, at the Manny Cantor Center. 

TBNC & SETTLEMENT HOUSING FUND INAUGURATE THE RAIN GARDEN AT TWO BRIDGES TOWER

In April 2022, Two Bridges Neighborhood Council and Settlement Housing Fund, marked the finale of an 8-year construction of a rain garden project.

TBNC Press Conference: Vaccines needed for homebound seniors in the Lower East Side.

Joined by several community organizations, such as GOLES, Hamilton Madison House and LES Ready!, TBNC called upon Governor Cuomo and Mayor de Blasio to include, as a top priority, the aging population of NYC seniors not able to travel to vaccine sites.

Notice of Program Suspensions Due to COVID-19

As of March 12, 2020, the Two Bridges Fitness program and Two Bridges Music school will be suspended until further notice. 

Suspended: Morning Tai Chi and Qi Gong Classes 

Morning Tai Chi and Qi Gong (held Tuesdays/Thursdays from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm) classes will be temporarily suspended for the remaining month of March 2020.

TBNC and Tommy's New York's soft launch of  the Chinatown-Little Italy Historic District walking tour begins Thursday, June 20 (10:00 am) convening from the Canal St. Kiosk on Walker/Canal.

Since 2009, the Marco Polo Festival interprets the story of the encounter between the famed Venetian merchant-traveler, Marco Polo (1254-1294), as a parallel of the historic encounter and lived experiences of the Chinese & Italian immigrants.
