10th Annual Silk Road Ambassador Awards Dinner

On October 11, Two Bridges Neighborhood Council (TBNC) hosted its 10th annual Marco Polo Silk Road Ambassador Awards Dinner at Golden Unicorn Restaurant’s iconic ballroom in Chinatown.

This year’s dinner festivities included the bestowal of the Marco Polo Silk Road Ambassador Awards, where local leaders were honored in recognition of their outstanding contributions towards the promotion of harmony, goodwill, and cooperation of the two communities of Chinatown and Little Italy.  The Honorees were: John C. Liu, 43rd New York City (NYC) Comptroller, a 2013 NYC mayoral candidate and current candidate for NY State Senate; and posthumously: Jerry Gottesman, of Edison Properties, and Annette Criscitelli, of Da Nico Ristorante. Also acknowledged for his 25 plus years of service to the Chinatown community was Fr. Raymond Nobiletti, retired pastor of Church of the Transfiguration. A scholarship endowment of $500 was bestowed to the students of  PS 126 Manhattan Academy of Technology and its prominent Principal Carlos Romero, for its cultural exchange programs.

On Saturday, October 20, 2018, a breathtaking parade of giant marionettes will start at 12:00pm in front of 62 Mott Street. Italian and Chinese-American cultural performances continue on stage located on Grand Street (between Mott and Mulberry Streets) from 12:30pm through 4:00pm.
